I always thought that was because they sampled a gigantic chunk of someone else's performance of it without permission. That's a different situation altogether.

Yeah, that was the explanation Dave Walker gave yesterday, which made much more sense. Very little of what I have read about this so far has mentioned that fact, though, so it seemed to me like they were confusing two issues. But I understand now.
