I use this program called "Little drummer boy." (yes, it's a bad name)
It is really great and very flexible. I use it for both making wav
loops out of drum samples and synth sounds. It lets you do any time
signature, and even has the option for doing multiple hits on each beat
so you can get stuttering sounds, etc. It also does beat stretching,
and a limited amount of processing to the sounds too (resonance
filtering, distortion). Enter the main page and then go to "software."
LDB needs this other program "stomper" to function properly, but both
programs are written by the guy who runs the site, and both are free to
download. Stomper is a softsynth program that is geared towards drum
sounds but can really be used for any sort of sounds...
