Why not use tags? I'm not sure how Wordpress does it, but in Drupal tags
are just categories that you can make up on the fly. I'd suggest that
you try one of these two, they're free. Check out

see a popular site that uses tags as it's main navigation; it doesn't
run on either software.
As for writing style, I'd ask yourself what kind of reviews you like.
You won't please everyone anyway and writing in a style that rewards
yourself can help sustain your willpower to write on a recurring basis.
