Adventures on the Wheels of Steel With Mad Wax Volume 004
This edition of AOS is a little different, as its my 30th born day on
Friday, and week long festivites combined with work put on me by the man
(but thanks for that paycheck!) prevent me from being able to set down in
the studio and dig the crates. However, I did dig up an old mix from 1998
from one of the Austin, Texas scenes stalwarts, infamous DJ Scott Grey.
Reigning supreme at various residencies around town, most notably during
the bangin saturday night sessions at Ohms nightclub in the mid 90s,
Scott graciously accepted my offer to lay down some blessed beats for the
Arena mix show I was running along side partners English Dave and DJ
Dionysos at 91.7 FM KVRX. Scott came in, tore things up for 90 minutes and
left. What remained was the best mix ever done on the Arena, and what you
have here is a 30 minute snippet of the first opening records of the
program. Ive kept this cassette for years, and when I finally got around
to encoding it, my#$(&$(@#*&@# Pioneer deck proceeded to eat the tape at
60 minutes in. Im still planning on doing cassette replacement surgery
(something the younger heads among us probably will never get to
experience;), but for now I have 60 minutes and Scott once again
represents 8 years later, via the marvels of SoundForge and a ghetto ass
Pioneer cassette deck. I dont have a tracklisting for any of this, but if
