i think the last really big thread i remember was the "warp fell off"
free-for-all a few months ago. perhaps that perception has
something to do with it? if warp is considered the birthplace and
bastion of IDM, and the IDM list (as i learned a few months back),
and their activity has been, shall we say, less than stellar, might
that not affect the list traffic? there seems to have been some lack
of activity/rumors of closing down about mille plateaux as well
(although they seem to be reactivating soon).
years ago i used to belong to a list discussing world
serpent-related artists (WSD-L). when 5 or 6 of their major artists
left, the list erupted into a fury of posts and then died down into
nothingness. i was still subscribed but stopped getting posts.
world serpent itself eventually closed, this past august.
