in Ohio there is bentcrayon in Cleveland (www.bentcrayon.com) with a pretty good selection, then there's hotwax and clubhead (if its still there) in Cincinnati. there's a place called used kids in Columbus (I think its still there) but as for IDM on everywhere but bentcrayon, you're kind of out of luck.
as for Detroit.. I understand there are tons, ive been to none of them, but ive heard a lot about record time, I'm sure Detroit techno is their expertise, but if it gets so many raves about it, it could have a decent IDM selection as well.
