While I agree with the sentiment, I'd like to think that sexuality *does* matter in some way. My sexuality informs the way I create and respond to music, and I certainly wouldn't want that part of my identity erased in the name of egalitarianism. This whole anti/essentialism debate is already pretty tired in queer theory, I admit, but it's still something to consider.
