We are all part of a demographic whether we like it or not. They

well, in a sense being apolitical is a political stance. so many
women sat out the california election because of a lack of
palatable choices, and the men voted in schwarzenegger. a
similar apathy affected the 2000 presidential election.

laws passed and wrongly enforced that seem to be trying to single
out this "apolitical" music.
that's because when authorities hear electro, beats, dance, or any
number of other words, they immediately think there's a club
muisc connection, which they think means drugs.

i think a lot of people by now are so numbed by it all they haven't
gotten around to reacting. and, predictably, the kind of music that
most people want to hear during times of strife are nice melodies
with no politics. so i guess that makes several IDM artists pretty
conservative after all.
