Does it revolt you? dave -----Original Message----- From: Albers, Brian [mailto:BAlbers@premiereradio.com] Sent: Friday, January 03, 2003 8:05 AM To: 'idm@hyperreal.org' Subject: RE: [idm] idm = braindance Dude, what is this- 2003 or 1993? I've been hearing this argument for 10 years now and no matter how much any of us hate, despise, or are revolted by the term "intelligent dance music," it really seems like it's here to stay. Get over it. idm content- The 3" cd by Quinoline Yellow is worth tracking down. On SMAK Records and in some slick packaging, it's got 5 songs of some high quality punchy bass idm with slight hip hop influences. And finally someone who's figured out how to use the 3" cd format effectively- not 1 song at 20 minutes, not 15 songs at :60 secods each. It's just a 12" on cd.
quoted 19 lines this arrived from rephlex:>this arrived from rephlex: > >a new year resolution: > >rephlex sent "i-D" magazine an A.R.T. records CD entitled " The >Philosophy of Sound & Machine" >"i-D" ran a full page pic of a rephlex 303 t-shirt and started >talking about "intelligent dance music", after warp's "artificial >intelligence" album an'that >ever since the raincoats have harped on about "intelligent dance music" >rephlex maintains that music concerns the heart and body at least as >much as the mind - so to counter this pidgeonhole, they harnessed >the natural energy of "braindance"!!!! > >all the time, people are complaining about the term "I.D.M" >- the people who invented it don't even listen to it > >please, let's call it braindance and get this party started for 2003 >
