v/a "409: FORCEFEED" (409) CD
409 is the junction of many disciplines, where art, photography, design,
music and technology intersect. Since its inception in 1998 409 has been
breaking down boundaries and fusing form with function, idea with object,
signal with noise. Forcefeed marks the first legitimately realized
collaborative effort from the 409 collective. Six musicians, each with a
different background, have all contributed exclusive material to this
full-length compilation. Participants include Systm, Merk, Masaru, Ade Lun
Sec, Dan Walton, mmodule. The styles run the gamut from abstract soundscapes
to cut-up hip-hop-inflected grooves, frenetic beats to smooth, serene
melodic bliss. Each CD contains 6 inserts designed by the artists, with one
selected at random for the "cover." This is just the beginning.
FORCEFEED is $8 plus shipping.
