i can't quite put my finger on what about it makes it special, but it's got
a lot of very subtle and unconventional sounding influences. for one, it's
sort of musically 'simple' on the surface but uses really weird tones that
are a little 'off' or detuned. the guy doesn't seem to have english as his
first language but i think this actually makes his lyrics unique and a lot
more interesting. then, he almost seems to have a subtle industrial-rock
kinda influence in some of his bass and rhythm arrangements. also a clear
fetish for 80s sounds.
it's a really special combination of elements. reminds me of hearing
