> Since I've already mentioned what I like, how are > Selection Sixteen and > Go Plastic? Those are the two big holes in my > Sqpshr collection that I > hope to fill soon. Selection 16 and Go Plastic are quite different. Selection 16 is probably my least favorite of any of Tom's work. If you could imagine out takes from Music is Rotted One Note and Big Loda then you'd have this album. There are a few moments, but most of the tracks are far too repetitious for his style. Go Plastic is great in my opinion. Not only because Rolling Stone gave it one star [a-hahahaha!!] but because it was put together so well. The actual song content doesn't quite reach Big Loda [his best, in my opinion] or Hard Normal Daddy status, but where that lacks he gains much ground with the quality of sound. This is probably one of the most professional sounding albums I've heard short of pop radio. I would love to know what kind of equipment he uses to process, etc. The new album seems to have a similar sound. If you like the sound of those two tracks on Warp, then you should certainly get Go Plastic. Its the type of album you'd imagine the guy spending hours tweaking 20-30 second segments on. This can be both good and bad. Perhaps that is why it doesn't sound as natural as Big Loda. Oh, and certainly look forward to the first track on Do You Know Squarepusher. It is (pretty much) the "Untitled" single he released a bit ago on warp [long out of stock], which is probably the best song ever written, dammit. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
