Here are my 2 cents on this one.
- Aphex Twin:
Agreed, even though i'm growing tired of the aphex style of over-exhausted
drums with over-distorted basslines. But he does push it where he can, and
we all love innovation.
- Squarepusher:
Undoubtedly. Whoever has the power to make a whole room smile singing "my
red hot car" has to be in a top5, whatever it may be :)
- Boards of Canada:
I'm kinda suspect to talk, since my room is somewhat a boc repository of
stuff, being the two-man-army from somwhere-in-scotland my favourite
band/group/whatever. They sure are in the top, here, and within my circle of
friends.
- LFO:
He started the whole glitchy thing. Well, he and a couple more, but lets
just use LFO as a scapegoat.
- The Orb/Björk/Autechre
I must say these influence my musical taste as a whole, so, they all deserve
to be in a top5(+2).
Anyone who can make people feel esquisitely high, incredibly happy, free as
a bird, and dancing like a maniac influences the whole massive this list
represents, so... :-)
