you can do similar things with piano roll in fruityloops (don't give me any
shit). change the sample to have no attack or release and send it to piano
roll. within that you can change the quantize or turn it off and queue the
sounds in "bits," it'll only play for the length that you draw it.
essentially you're arranging in !=1000 BPM. really incredible stuff... but
then again i'm sure you could build some modular exponential formula
business in reaktor and get the same results....
