hi,
if you can track it down, get an album by a guy named nuno canavarro called
'plux quba.' came out way back in 88 or so, and flew under most people's
radar at that point. way before it's time, it has a lot of treated vocals.
it's a very strange work, but it seems to me an obvious precursor to all
this glitchy laptop business. supposedly the prefuse track 'nuno' is named
for him. it was rereleased on jim o'rourke's moikai label in 99, so you
should still be able to find it on vinyl or cd with a little digging. well
worth checking out for anyone interested in the roots/history behind idm and
glitch.
