I am a longtime Aesop Rock fan, perhaps the only one who doesn't care for
his newer material. Someone posted that "Float" is his first album ... it is
in fact his third, preceded by "Music For Earth Worms" and "Appleseed." I
think "Float" is certainly the epitome of his sound and style, but the first
two are exceptional as well (he is also on a track with Atmosphere's Slug
and MF Doom on the Molemen compilation whose name I can't remember at the
moment).
Although he lacks somewhat in the stage presence area (he tends to stand in
one place staring upward), he is flawless in his execution and delivery
(believe it or not he can spit all the verses he does on his albums with
studio punch-ins).
