And, if you like the Minutemen, you really should check out the compilation, "Our Band Could Be Your Life" that came out in 1994 (http://www.littlebrotherrecords.com/ourband.html), featuring a shitload of indie bands both major and obscure (Thurston Moore, Unwound, Lou Barlow, Meat Puppets, Crackerbash, Jawbox, Free Kitten are some of the bigger names) covering Minutemen songs. In some ways a novelty item, especially 8 years on when most of the bands have long gone, but Dos' (who was Mike Watt & Kira from Black Flag, if I'm not mistaken) cover of "Do you want new wave or do you want the truth?" is absolutely heartbreaking. That's one of my favorite songs of all time, and it just seems to get more relevant every year. I realize this post has fuck-all to do with IDM.
