quoted 1 line Their music has *soul*.> Their music has *soul*.
ok, I think I can safely say I'm coming from the other camp. I went through a phase in high school where I became obsessed with "soul"-- everything had to have soul to it, the problem was, I had a really hazy idea of what soul actually was. After about 2 months, I realized that whatever soul was, I didn't have it. Also I was white which seems to work counter to having soul. so nowadays, I don't even consider soul when listening to music. It's too vapid. But I'm still as large a fan of BoC as you are. What I look for in music is "good ideas". Where you hear the music, and you hear the musician's thought process, and it's a good idea-- kind of like a good mathematical proof, or a clever implementation of an algorithm. and BoC are just full of good ideas. g. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
