ya generally they can read and play amazingly well, but once you take away
the sheet music they can't play...i play in a post rock/kinda improv
outfit, and it has taken a year but our keyboard player is slowly getting
more and more comfortable with making up her own music...and playing more
complex parts...it is great....but it took a year of slowly coaxing it out
of her...
