I'm curious how the global and economic events over the past few months are affecting everyone's listening habits. Do you spend more time listening to music, or less? If things get worse for the economies in our countries, will we buy less music because the money isn't there? Or will we buy more and more to comfort ourselves? Music is the cheapest thing in my life that makes me happy, and I'll always find money for it someow. I ask this here because it directly relates to the IDM/experimental electronic music scene. There are tons of small labels that supply us with our music, and I hope that the tightening economy doesn't squeeze them out. I can see that this could end lots of other businesses in other fields already, so its kind of worries me. But on the other hand, if music makes us all feel better, maybe we'll be moving into an expansion in the marginal music economy. I'd especially like to hear opinions of anyone working with these little labels that are directly facing these issues.
