In light of the tragedy of September 11, I wondered what kind of music I
would turn to for this Saturday's show. I picked several pieces that I
would call comfort music: Pharoah Sanders, Coltrane, Feldman, Part,
MazzaCane Connors, etc., along with some new releases I received at the
station. Although the show is not dedicated specifically to the victims,
survivors, and families affected throughout the world, I do hope that
perhaps something that I played today made someone reconnect with the magic
and power that music brings to our lives.
