Wow, they're all really good. My opinions (in no particular order): PLAISTOW FLEX OUT :- This one is the closest to a cartoon (ie, it had a plot), but it was all a bit too confusing. The skeleton at the end is cool, but the whole animation could have been from any song with a similar tempo. Still, very good. GO! SPASTIC :- A very good geometric animation. Keeps well with the rhythm and highlights all the intricacies of the track. It's very grey though. Spots of colour appear briefly, but I don't know if I like the "all grey" approach. The geometric animation is very good, but overall I wasn't engrossed by the content. Not an easy song to animate by any means. METTENG EXCUSE v1.2 :- I really dug this one. It looks inviting, and there's some semblance of a plot. It's short, but definitely not lacking. The ending, with the clocks, is really nice. I like this one. MY RED HOT CAR :- This felt the most like a music video of the lot. It's interesting (cuz of the crazies) and very watchable. I like the inbetween animations and overlays. It's very MTV, but then again so is the song (well, to a degree anyway). My personal favourite. THE EXPLODING PSYCOLOGY :- One of the best Winamp-Viz-type-things I've ever seen. It's obviously very well thought out and expertly programmed. A great deal of effort has gone into this. However, I lost interest after the first minute and a half I'm afraid. There was just more of the same, and in the end it felt just like...well, a visualiser pulgin. Sorry Stefan, it wasn't my favourite. Still, it's an excellent piece of work. Bravo. I'm really quite impressed with all the 5 finalists. I think Go! Plastic is a really difficult album to animate to. I was hoping to see one for "I Wish You Could Talk", but I guess the song is a bit simple in comparison. Anyway, they're all very good animations. Well done to anyone involved. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
