Sounds like a textbook definition of some flavors of IDM. :) I mean, if you have something that is considered to be hip hop and then suck out the history and replace it with nonverbal snippets of an anonymous MC, what does that leave you with? Half of Chiastic Slide, if you ask me. By the by, this "Artie Shaw/Benny Goodman/Bill Haley" cultural astringency argument is what I was wondering when I asked a few months ago if anybody knew any details on the P73 samples. The dearth of responses spoke as much about his fans as it did the music. That said, I still listen to it and like it but I don't consider it hip hop. There's a track on one of the first couple Schematics that mixes well with Foxy Brown's "Hot Spot". -eric onnow: Dub Tractor, "Delay" (FX) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
