I'll also add, as someone who just recently sent out an e-mail to friends
to check out some music I've been working as well, that while it's
perfectly natural to not get a single response until quite a while after
the post, it's always frustrating because you're always at that moment
where you've practically fallen in love with and obsessed over this song
you just finished. And to not get an immediate, lavishly positive response
from this entire world of e-mail addresses seems like a slap in the face.
When in fact, these folks you e-mailed are probably just getting off their
shift at work.. or just didn't have time to check e-mail, or have a broken
net connection, or ran out of download disk space, or just don't have the
time to download but mean to, etc. etc. etc.
Just hang in there.
