I've noticed that boc seems to form a connection with people that most of
the other idm artists don't. I think it's relative simplicity works well for
people into more pop oriented music, and the overall complexity of the layers
of sounds intrigues those who might otherwise dismiss electronic music. IE -
after spending a wild night last weekend chilling out with all my
crusty-punk(hardcore listeners, dystopia, the locust, etc. etc.) friends, one
of them stormed up into my friend matt's car and demanded he make him a tape
of "that stuff i liked" before he trainhopped to louisiana.. that stuff turned
out to be boards.
