In order to meet the sometimes impossible lead times of press we have no choice but to bang out some CDR advances of our records. We admit it's not glamorous and sometimes they're more susceptible to defects than a proper pressing of the release, but hey that's the only way we can swing it sometimes. Some people work on 3-4 month lead times. It's a pretty lofty assumption that we're even close to being so organised as to have all parts for a new release that far ahead.
