Of the uk garage coming out at the time, Mj Coles album 'Sincere' was
probably one of the most impressively produced. For me, it was the
indication after a number of years that some serious production was getting
thought about in uk garage, like the evolution jungle went through many
moons ago. Doesn't stop people whacking out any old shite at the moment
and watching it sell, but there you go.
The introductory track has lovely nubreaksy bassline and rattle and there
are a couple of other good tracks which have been released on single.
There is a lot of cheesy vocal stuff that doesn't really rock my boat, but
for the good tracks, it can be quite groovy.
I wouldn't take the jazzanova remix to be particularly indicative of mj's
sound, by the way.
Bye then,
Tom.
