That is why you think it sucks, let go. Stop trying to conceptualize the
sound they have always created before. They did something new, something
inventive, well, at least for themselves. I have heard music like this
long ago, so I can't really say it's anything new, but it is cool.

And you are definitely entitled to that. I just think it is sad that here
we are in a genre of being creative and innovative, and those who do that
seem to be ridiculed. Don't get me wrong, there is a BIG difference
between being interpretive/creative and being inventive/creative.

It's definitely a cool album, but I think where Autechre failed on this
album is to be evolutionary. At least in the sense that it came across
innovative. Like I said, there were groups before Autechre doing this kind
of stuff but on a more aggressive level. But it definitely excites me to
see where they will go with it from here, if they decide to continue with
it. Lentic Catachresis to me sounds like they've been hanging out with the
boys of Tribes of Neurot. Pretty creepy.
