well, it wasn't an asr10, r8 & a board, that's for sure (their rig at the la
show 3 years prior?). but it wasn't two sl1200's and a mixer either. i
consider a laptop, board & effects to be 'live' - esp if 100% of the
material played is the artists own.
in talking with mike p after his set he even commented that ae were going to
be playing 'live' rather than the 'dj' set they had been booked for.
in the end, it's mostly perception.
