eh, it's a toughy. i'll give you that much. one thing i really like about
the devine ep is that almost every track has this incredible balance between
clankity-clank percussion and beautiful melody. the two are polar
opposites. yet they fit together like peas and carrots. and i couldn't say
i've ever heard that done like devine did it on that ep. the lily track was
somewhat similar, 'cept rather than starting with clankity-clank and ending
with melody, he starts with clankity clank and ends with clankity-clank +
melody. lipswitch is almost exempt from these melodic elements that i speak
of. so you really tend to look at his work through a whole different light.
i would say the devine ep was actually very soothing. with lipswitch,
devine smacks you as hard as possible with all the machinery in this world
and the next. leaving you quivering in cold urine. heh, not really. it's
a great release, but it's quite the toughy.
