tbh i'm torn on them giving a lifetime achievement award to Mike Paradinas.
on one hand, it's cool that he's getting recognized because planet mu is
far from a trivial entity, and i'm a μ-ziq fan, but on the other it could
be evidence of them just googling "top independent electronic music label"
and finding the founder. but in that case, why not warp?
i feel like they could be digging deeper for someone worthy of a "lifetime"
achievement award (eno, kraftwerk, dave smith, posthumously to bob moog,
any musique concrète pioneer...)...Mr. Paradinas is only 44, hopefully he
has a bit of "lifetime" left.
either way, should be an entertaining night..
