U can't do it.
I use vst 5 and find it really nice but on this one ,steinberg
people are just big lamers !!!
I've heard somewhere that it will be possible in futur versions.
but what u can do is on the mixer to turn on the write button ,then u
move something on the plugin... it writes the parameters u change but it
writes
too an audio mix channel at the bottom of the channels window..
click on the audiomix and then go in there to where the plugin
u just move the parameters is..there u can now change each parameters
with the pen like the midi controllers in a midi channel..
hope it helps you.

Subject: [idm] Controlling VST plugin parameters from MIDI
| 'llo all...
| I recently set up vst remote in cubase5.0 so that my doepfer drehbank
| controls all the volume/pan/effect send levels in the vst mixer...
however,
| one thing still puzzles me, and i've heard it can be done, so here goes...
| How do you control plugin parameters (reverb times etc) with MIDI?
| automating with a mouse is a pain in the <insert tender biological spot>
| Its possible in audiomulch (which is free, and great, by the way), so I
| don't see why it can't be done in cubase, but I've waded through a fair
| amount of documentation without finding anything on the subject... help
| appreciated,
| unlyrn
