Double CD compilation in special space food packaging. Issued by
collaboration between the Galier Fuer Zeitgenoessische Kunst Leipzig &
Raster-Noton, based on live performances at the Galerie, as currated by
Carsten Nicolai. Featuring the following artists: Disinformation, Scanner,
Thomas Brinkmann, Ritchie Hawtin, Frank Bretschneider, Kim Cascone, Goem,
Ryoji Ikeda + Noto, Byetone, Pan Sonic, William Basinski, Signal, COH,
Pomassl, Marc Behrens, Francisco Lopez, General Magic. All tracks are
exclusive except the Hawtin track ("pieces of his conceptual album"). "For
the compilation, with a few exceptions, new pieces emerged which, around six
minutes long, reflect the character of the performance. The arrangement of
the tracks is in keeping with Carsten Nicolai's concept of grouping the
concerts under formal headlines -- the breaks from 'rhythm' to 'data' or
from 'grain' to 'silence' exist here too; the range of formal language that
New Forms programmatically investigated and presented becomes evident."
