as somebody else has said, yes, it's the same mau.
only different. he's striking the "rock" pose now, sort of. his
singing style reminds me of a cross between shaun ryder and bobby
gillespie. the lyrics are quite good, dark reflections of club-life
in a big city.
dirty beatniks were part of the 'big beat' movement, and, as
everybody knows, Big Beat Is Dead. only, now that they've gotten
themselves a vocalist, you could say big beat is resurrected.
actually, if it wasn't for mau, "feedback" would be a somewhat
boring album. as it is now, it's good (but not great).
