Ignoring that mistake, what do people find so irksome about this article?
I don't think it's well written, but I agree with the observations on the
whole, and am a reasonably happy subscriber to this list. (That sounds like a
response to a customer satisfaction survey, but hey... :)
The only thing that I found irksome was the comments about Germans. Heading
towards racial slur... already there? I dunno.
For whoever was moaning about decent coverage of IDM, there are certainly web
mags out there. Also, in New Zealand there's a magazine released by a big
local record store called 'Real Groove' that has a spread every issue on music
that gets discussed on this list. The guy who writes it is a really sound
writer, and is always hyping artists like Vladislav Delay, Atom Heart, the
Warp stable, some self-referential dick called Jet Jaguar... ;-) The list goes
on. This alongside other pages of reviews of <favourite RNB artist to diss>
and <dodgy rock band considered past it>.
So if that's the state of play in New Zealand, there must be something going
on wherever else you lot are posting from.
