Err, I can't listen to the record and not think Autechre, both for the type of sounds employed, track structure, etc. I really like it, and I imagine I'll be putting the CD into heavier rotation than any recent autechre record. If poeple don't want people to mention th Ae-word with respect to their music, they should avoid sounding like them. Jake Mandell would probably acknowledge that Autechre's sound is an influence on him. Why wouldn't he? I acknowledge their influence on my stuff.
