If you can tolerate Porsche-driving yuppies on cell phones trying to run you over, and if you can stand loud, drunk 40-year-olds dropping cigar ash, halitosis and vodka on your shoes, then Manayunk's cutting-edge Edge is for you. The last time I was there the DJ seemed to mix it up. Dress for success. Better yet, forget IDM and head to the Brock St Pub a couple of blocks down the street, where Eddie Money and George Thoroughgood sometimes show up to break shit up.

digital underground and Repo Records are my favorite stores. Their IDM selection is excellent if you can't wait for mail order and need your fix immediately. 611's import selection is rediculously overpriced ($30 for Aphex's Girl/Boy?) and the staff are effete snobs. Fuck 'em.
