BS Boys are strictly from commersh; they use multimillion dollar studios where one vintage tube microphone costs more than all of most IDM artists have in their studios. The equipment used is irrelevant for a completely different reason than the reasons BoC gear is irrelevant. BS Boys gear irrelevancy comes from the fact that they use the best in the service of steadfastly mediocre material. BoC gear irrelevancy comes from the fact that their material is wonderful, and could survive being produced on an Casio SK1, a Yak Bak, and a cheap 4 track. And if you know anything about their history, at one point that probably WAS what they were using to make tracks. And yes I know you were making a funnee. And yes I am a production geek, so I can listen to and appreciate stuff like Backstreet Boys because of the production values. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
