Sadly this is the case. We are not by any means an awful smooth jazz group! We
weren't aware of the American band when we started.
And I have no lack of respect for James Brown, I just get sick of the sound
fairly quickly when listening to him. As Kelley has pointed out to me off-list,
this is not really an on-topic discussion, but I had to defend my band *grin*
Similarly with Mozart, all I wanted to say was that surely it's alright for me
not to particularly like a fair amount of his stuff even though I'm not quite up
to his (undoutable) standards of composition/musicianship.
By the way, the Dr Smith & Professor Ludlow 12" "Rinsin With the Doctor" on Fat
Cat is superb. Was it no more than a vicious rumour that this is Andy Weatherall
or Two Lone Swordsmen? It _could_ be from the sound, but I'm not altogether
convinced...
Cheers,
Peter.
