this reply is almost as silly as the thread on dxm :)
i kinda feel bad for starting this, but my original intention was to see
if IDM/new-school-electronic/whatever music creates similar feelings and
mental environments to certain fun pills and liquids.
i think in all this talk of what gear so and so uses, and who is inspired
by who, and what sample this artist used, or why someone's music
collection is an extension of their manliness, or why idm sucks now, and
why this is idm and this is not, and what the fuck does idm mean anyway?,
and why do we not have emotion in our music... in the midst of talks on
all these [sometimes] interesting things... i cannot think of ONE time
aside from this week that the psychedelic nature of this music has been
addressed.
and i am most certainly NOT trying to develope a debate between the folks
that enjoy ingesting certain chemicals and those who do not. (in fact,
one of the MOST sober folks i know somehow manages to drop the most INSANE
and tweeked out music mixed in a insane manner everytime he djs.. very
"stimuli"ating :)
i dont know, the other night i was just tripping out on some of the
insanity of this music -- how beautiful it is -- how it takes my head to
weird places.. sorry if mentioning dxm flipped a little switch.
