re: konrad becker/monoton
monoton 07 is excellent. the insert in the lp mentions the other 6
releases. a graphic, a video, two casettes, an lp and a 7". i have the 7"
which is along the line of 07. can anyone comment or know how to locate the
others?
Konrad Becker also appears on the excellent compilation- Q.E.D. - where i
was first introduced to his music. The track, "Mutation-Waltz" is that sort
of bouncy-robotic metallic synth reverb sequence with Becker's monoton vocals
and early lo-fi drum machine. The vocals truly put this stuff in a certain
period/era, but the instrumental parts are truly under rated and have been
overlooked for years and do stand the test of time.
someone does a radio show or runs some sort of site under the monoton
moniker, but i doubt any connection.
Does anyone have any other info on this guy? Is he still active in music?
I'll trade liberally for this stuff....
