now that the poll is over, i'd like to publicly view my opinions on
categories etc:
yes, out with the 'genre' categories, they're a bitch to define.
instead i'd like a 'non-IDM' category, please.
and another category i find missing is remix-album of the year. the
remix-album: not quite an artist album, not quite a compilation, but
partaking the nature of both. this year i'd vote for
ryuichi sakamoto: prayer / salvation (ninja tune) {brilliant!}
but there were others:
pizzicato five: happy end of you {brilliant in spots}
telex: i don't like music {a bit cheeky but very good}
skinny puppy: remix dystemper {this one was pretty blah, though}
...
this would be the next year, then...
