You'll probably learn about midi, which will be useful. Truthfully, though, if you've any propensity for computers you can understand most of what midi is all about in five minutes or less. techno.ca (I think) has a movable-parts list dedicated to this sort of stuff. The most valuable lists (imo) are gear specific, unfortunately. You could probably also learn a lot just by hanging out on the #midi channel on the irc for a couple of nights. bbn
