I just saw the Steve Reich 10-CD boxset used for about $50. Is it worth
picking up (as I've never heard any of his stuff before) or would it be a
better introduction/more economical to buy one or two of his important
releases? Are his important ones In C (or was that by terry riley?), Music
for 18 Musicians, Drumming, Four Organs, it's Gonna rain? Are there any major
omissions/flaws in the box set? Botttom line is, i want to hear the
innovators, and $50 for 10 Cds is a good deal, but still a large chunk of
change for one unheard artist. All opinions appreciated.
