the leon mar stuff (reinforced) is hardish with deep deep keys, almost
souljazzish vocal highlights, and programming that rivals photek. very
soulful stuff (i read somewhere he used to be an unsuccessful
houseproducer) picture the prototype sound mixed in with 4 hero and
you're getting there.
the arcon 2 stuff (also reinf.) loses the jazz, multiplies the drum
programming complexity factor by 10, and drops in some serious
lustmord-esque ambience. very dark, but without any of the cliches.
(though the odd distorted three-note b-line does turn up)
there are remixes of neotropic, fsol (havent heard) and j.majik
the oil record is on ebv (fsol's label) it's kind of dark, funky
trip-hop with a disco sensibility and some twisted out distorted
guitars. good not great.
