_Freedom of Noise_ is a much more formative album... same ideas, but the execution is rougher. still great, but the juxtaposition of noise and structure isn't nearly as seamless as it is on _Blown_.

the four Lo Recordings compilations are unmissable - and most feature Jon Tye in some form. his track on NINEbar's _Joint Ventures_ compilation is also excellent, though the collaborative Slack Dog Ensemble EPs (Lo Recordings and Flowershop) are still Tye's greatest moments of unadulterated tech-noise. i'd also consider his lesser-known _Io_ album/soundtrack (on Rising High UK) an essential purchase, especially if you enjoy fragile beatless ambience like Global Communications' Sensorama remix. even airier than MLO's _01:01:01_... it has to be one of the most supernaturally subtle albums ever released. cheers!
