On the American release tip, don't hold your breath. I don't have any
inside skinny on what's going to happen, just instinct. It might come
out in a few months, maybe. Maybe.
As for whether or not the import's worth the $?
Suffice it to say that it's a real departure from the previous stuff
(except for one standout cut): i.e. wave terminal goodbye to DJ Jimmy
Jay and the Serge Gainsbourg sampleriffing and say a serious non-stop
hello to Zdar and Boom Bass of La Funk Mob -- these two hijacked Solaar
completely, and most of the trax really sound as though our favorite MC
is trapped inside a soundscape he can't really mesh with on a funky
level no matter how hard he tries.
Most of it's O.K. One track blows the roof off in that subtle Solaar
stylee.
