Ok...I swear I am not on crack but I think this would be neat.
So in hip hop, and some higher tempo music, you nod your head to the music
in agreement with the beats.
consider a full forward and full backward head-nod position.
consider the velocity and acceleration inherent with the head nod.
consider snare spacing (think drill n' bass/sounding like the 1st track off
of RDJ album) which precicely modeled this velocity/position and/or
acceleration curve. Consider bass spacing which modeled each forward/back nod.
what would this sound like?
would it be the ultimate groove?
no, this is not an elaborate joke. I am seriously curius. I'm just about
to go borrow some potentiometric tranducers from the ME lab and hook them
up to a computer and generate an appropriate curve and lay the beats out by
hand. but with all this talk of generative music, I think it would be an
interesting approach to drum programming.
