Subject: beyond the chill out
Had a chin wag with MMM on friday night over a can of red stripe whilst
waiting for Soviet France to show at the VOX. (they didn't show as
they were stuck on a toliet in Newcastle, after a dodgy curry no doubt).
Topic of conversation was taking ambient out of the chill out room and
onto greater things. In particular we agreed that the Aphex Twin doing
a live soundtrack to Nosferatu (3/11/94) was an extremely good idea and
probably represents a new direction for the near future. More
importantly it takes ambient away from the back room of a rave and into
newer environments.
