Has anyone got ART2 yet? Also, it looks like the Apollo Comp is either out of print or just damn difficult to find. If anyone has one or knows of one, e-mail me. Will take a DAT. -- Brian "Life is a sexually transmitted disease with a terminal prognosis." http://sparrow.bio.indiana.edu/brian/me

Wasn't ART2 the 'The Philosophy Of Sound And Machine' compilation? It's bloody brilliant. Black Dog, B12, Kirk Degiorgio, Matt Cogger, Mike Dred and Richard D. James are on this one. It's almost 2 years old now i guess. Thanks, you just saved me getting a second copy of this! -- Brian "Life is a sexually transmitted disease with a terminal prognosis." http://sparrow.bio.indiana.edu/brian/me

There was, however, a newer release from ART which included the new stuff by Black Dog Productions (as Balil), Kirk Degiorgio and his aliases (Future/Past, As One, etc..) that might have been out in the last 3 months. The cover art was supplied by BDP and I <<think>> that Kirk is the one that runs ART.. Has anyone picked up the New Electronica album by Kirk= As One "Reflections.?" Very nice, subtle stuff. He picks up where a good portion of Detroit (sans Juan, Carl & a few others) left off a few years back. He doesn't rely solely upon deep heavy 909 or 808 kicks, which is very refreshing. One of few who can get the original Detroit "electro-jazz" flavors down.. I highly recommend it. As far as other stuff..in da same mode.. I would recommend the Irdial Records stuff.. This music blows my mind since I have never once seen a record in America (which includes record stores in Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincinnati, etc...) but is so close to the Detroit sound too (Jon D.. we gonna hear anything about this?? 8] ) NeuroPolitique and In/Sync are two albums right off hand that get my extreme regard.. very, very, very good stuff. 1994's vote for the most underrated label. "In your hearts * Not the charts" is their motto. Well, this is kinda long winded.. so, hopefully this won't be a completely bo-ring opinionated article.. todd -- ++ todd sines ~ ++++ sines.3@osu.edu / sines@sn.com / sines@well.sf.ca.us / analogue@osu.edu ++++ 58 A W. 3rd Ave, Columbus, OH 43201 * 614 299 9246 * pager 614 481 2746 ++ analogue heaven adminstator * ars * ELE MENT * enhanced * zinc studios -- Brian "Life is a sexually transmitted disease with a terminal prognosis." http://sparrow.bio.indiana.edu/brian/me
